Attivare GIovani in REte
The A.GI.RE project aims to promote the participation and active engagement of young people in areas characterized by high levels of poverty, social exclusion, and limited access to services—specifically the Arghillà neighborhood in Reggio Calabria and the Tor Bella Monaca district (Municipality VI) in Rome.
Young people were directly involved in designing and implementing workshops focused on writing, storytelling, journalism, digital literacy (including the creation of an online magazine and a web radio station), and street art.
In coordination with the project partners, ActionAid adopted a youth-led approach throughout every phase. Participants helped design and deliver activities, which were therefore flexible by nature.
Participatory methods included cooperative and experiential learning, grounded in reflection on participants’ own contexts and an action–reflection–action cycle, as well as peer education, which involved participants directly in creating and sharing knowledge with their peers
